Unifying the Regge-Wheeler-Zerilli and Bardeen-Press-Teukolsky formalisms on spherical backgrounds

We develop a formulation of perturbation theory on spherically symmetric backgrounds based on self-dual curvature equations combined with spherical harmonic expansions.
