Donutization Inside Neutron Stars: Shell-Localized Scalar Fields

Heavy scalar fields (m phi \gtrsim10 -9 eV) in scalar-tensor gravity are expected to be hidden from neutron-star observations because their Compton wavelength is sub-stellar.
